Michael Parks Windham passed away peacefully in his sleep on Aug 28, 2011, at his home in Austin, TX with his sons by his side.
Mike was born on Sept. 23rd, 1944 in Houston, TX. He was educated at Rice University earning a Ph.D in Mathematics and Statistics in 1970. He became a professor in that field at Utah State University for 25 years and moved on to become Department Head of the Math and Statistics Department at the University of South Alabama until his retirement in 2007.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carol, whom he bravely spent 10 years caring for as she succumbed to frontotemporal dementia until her death in 2009. In 2007 he also began his own personal battle with renal cancer which was the ultimate cause of his passing.
He is remembered lovingly by his sons, David and Jonathan of Austin, Texas; sister, Marivonne (Monte) of Houston, Texas; and cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws around the country.
